Smart toilets
How to choose a smart toilet: wall-hung, floor-standing or bidet seat
Three ways to bring an integrated bidet into the bathroom. What changes between a wall-hung smart toilet, a floor-standing one and a bidet seat that fits the toilet you already have.

A smart toilet combines in a single fixture the bowl, the warm-water bidet, the heated seat and, depending on the model, the warm-air dryer, the night light and automatic lid opening. Before even looking at the functions, however, it is worth deciding on the form: wall-hung, floor-standing or a bidet seat that fits an existing toilet. This choice determines the work in the bathroom, the space taken up and the final look.
The wall-hung toilet: a clear floor and clean lines
The wall-hung toilet is fixed to the wall and leaves the floor beneath the bowl clear. The bathroom looks tidier and cleaning the floor is easier. To support it you need a structure in the wall, usually a concealed frame with a cistern, or a model that already has the tank inside the body of the fixture.
In the Keliss range, wall-hung models are grouped in the wall-hung toilet series and in the Sanova line. Some Sanova models, such as the Sanova S005F and the Sanova Y3, have an integrated tank: no separate concealed cistern is needed, which makes them worth considering in small bathrooms or when you do not want to carry out major work on the wall. Others, such as the Sanova Y3WB, are designed for a concealed cistern, when the wall is already open for a renovation.

The floor-standing toilet: the most direct choice as a replacement
The floor-standing toilet rests on the floor and connects to the waste outlet like a traditional toilet. It is often the simplest route when replacing an existing toilet without rebuilding the wall. Many Keliss floor-standing models, such as the EvoLux series, the U5 or the T16, are tankless and take water directly from the mains: this is why they require adequate water pressure, stated in the specifications of each model.
Other floor-standing models, such as the NeoWash 0020, NeoWash XT, AeroLux 706 and NeoWash Ultra, offer the tank as an option and therefore accept lower pressures. The Sanova S002F fits a standard rear floor outlet, without a concealed frame.
The bidet seat: the main functions on the toilet you already have
The smart bidet seat replaces the seat of the existing toilet. It does not change the bowl and does not require building work: you need a water connection and a power socket nearby. The models in the Keliss bidet seat series have a heated seat, a warm-air dryer, several washing modes and a stainless steel nozzle that cleans itself after every use.
It is a good solution for those who want to try an integrated bidet, for those who rent, or for those whose toilet is in good condition. Before choosing one, however, you need to check that the shape and dimensions of the bowl are compatible with the seat: Keliss bidet seats are elongated and their dimensions are given in the specifications.
Questions to ask yourself before deciding
- Are you renovating or only replacing the fixture? With the wall open, a wall-hung toilet with a concealed cistern is easier to plan; without building work, a floor-standing model or a bidet seat is more direct.
- How much space do you have? In small bathrooms the depth of the fixture and the space taken up by the cistern matter.
- What is your household water pressure? Tankless models require a minimum pressure, while those with a tank or a booster pump are less demanding.
- Is there a power socket near the toilet? All smart toilets and bidet seats need electricity.
- Which functions do you really need? A heated seat and washing are common to almost the whole range; automatic lid opening, UV sterilisation and voice control depend on the model.
Functions: start with the ones you will use every day
Once you have chosen the form, it is worth comparing models starting from the everyday functions: the type of wash, the temperature and pressure adjustment, the heated seat and the drying. More advanced functions, such as the proximity sensor, the foot sensor or voice control, make use more convenient but are not present on every model. Each product page lists the features of the individual model and, where there are several versions, what distinguishes them.
Finally, remember that installation is carried out by your own plumber or installer: this is why it is useful to choose a model whose technical data and manual you can consult in advance.
